All information about our newsletter subscribers, donors, webshop customers and other stakeholders is stored in our Customer Relations Management database, which is operated by ProFundo AS.

Donors, buyers and other stakeholders.

We collect names and addresses from our donors and buyers. Telephone numbers and email addresses are voluntary. Social Security numbers are stored when people want tax deductions for their gifts. When you become a donor, you consent to the organization using personal data for communication with the individual, e.g. newsletters, invitations to events, mailing of tax deductions, etc. Upon termination of the donor relationship, your personal data is deactivated.

Handling of national identity numbers

Donors who want a tax deduction for their donations to the organization must provide their national identity number. A separate “your page” solution has been established that the donor manages themselves. Social security numbers are stored and managed in a responsible manner in line with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority's guidelines.

E-mails

You should not send sensitive information such as social security numbers by e-mail. If we receive an email with sensitive information, we will process it according to the content and delete the email immediately.

Newsletters

In order for us to be able to send you newsletters, you must register your email address with us. You have the option to unsubscribe by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email or by contacting us through the communications channels outlined at the end of this page. All personal information is stored in accordance with regulations, is not shared with others, and the email address is deleted when it is no longer in use.

Use of cookies

www.regnskog.no/www.rainforest.no uses cookies. A cookie is a small amount of data that a web browser receives from websites that the user visits and which is stored as a file on the user's hard drive. The files are deleted automatically after a certain period of time or when the website is closed, but this can be managed if desired.

We primarily use cookies to be able to aggregate data that we use in analyses and to optimize our website. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics, Google's own measurement tool, to measure traffic to our website. This means that new users are given a unique ID number, and we can then follow this user's behavior on our website. We use this data exclusively to provide our users with more relevant content on regnskog.no/rainforest.no . If you want to opt out of being registered in Google Analytics, you can use a separate browser add-on developed by Google.

You do not need to consent to storing our cookies in your browser, and if you want to manage them yourself, you can get more information on how to do that here. Please note that many websites will not function optimally if you do not consent to cookies.

We also use cookies in connection with customized content and marketing on websites other than regnskog.no. These are so-called third-party cookies, which make it possible for our ads to be visible to you on other websites you visit after visiting us.

Registration for courses and events

You can register for courses and events via our website and newsletter. In this connection, we collect information such as name and contact details in addition to allergies and needs for accommodation. This personal data is not used for any purpose other than to administer the event. The personal data will be deleted after the event.
